Hi everyone! I am studying a Diploma of Early Childhood education and care. I am onto my 2nd Assessment for my first cluster (Legal)
I am working through the questions in order to get my draft completed. Can anybody tell me if I am on the right track for the bellow question?
Thanks guys!
6.What further internal and external, support or strategies could the educator provide the family to minimise future conflicts of interest for the care of the child involved?
Please clearly explain two (2) strategies you would use.
My answers:
1.Support/Strategies: The Educator could provide the family with helpful services to prevent future abuse: Family well-being programs, parenting services, Centrelink (financial benefits, Salvation Army to provide family support), unemployment agencies, healthy lifestyle organisations, etc. These suggestions could allow Larry’s mother to lead a healthier lifestyle where Larry will be fed more nutritional meals each day. Larry’s life may also become more stabilised and the abuse would come to a stop due to his mother being more established in her life.
2.Support/Strategies: The Educator could suggest support to assist Larry’s mother to better her role as a sole parent: Financial/Parenting support groups, counselling, child growth and development, children’s needs, nutrition services, etc. These services would be beneficial for Larry’s mother in creating a more sustainable lifestyle. They would also help Larry in gaining a safer home life and a more enjoyable one at that.
The above information of support, however, should be delivered implicitly to Larry’s mother. Hand her some broachers about the supportive services and remind her that if she needs any support by the approved service (Skittles Family Day Care), then they would gladly help her out where they can. That way she knows that not only are these services available, but Skittles Family Day Care are going to be supportive also.
