CHCECE012 - Scenario: Zoe - Milk Comes From Cows

Post by kanwal » Mon Oct 26, 2015 12:09 pm

Hi,
If anyone can guide me with this that how can i expand my answers or they are fine?
Thanks in advance :)

Scenario is:

Zoe is 4 years old. She is sitting at table drinking milk. “Milk comes from cows you know.” Says Zoe’s friend Cobi. “No it doesn’t.” replies Zoe. “Milk comes from the shop.”
1.What would you say to Cobi and Zoe at the time of this conversation
2.List two experiences you could provide to Zoe to help develop her understanding of the natural world
1. I would tell them that they both are right. I will explain them in a simple way how people collect milk from cows and then it went to factory and after being processed and filled in bottles ,we can buy it from shops.

2. I could show Zoe a video regarding how milk gets from the cow to the store.
I could show Zoe books ,posters or figurines to help develop her understanding of the natural world.

Yes, you got some good ideas! You could also include how we can also get eggs from hens, wool from sheep... If possible you could even do a "Farm" excursion or have a petting zoo come to the centre...

Hope this helps,
