CHCECE017 - Scenario: Father Having An Affair

Post by Elisa » Mon Oct 12, 2015 6:23 pm

ok Question to ask ...

Should colleagues share information about the children's parent for example, they tell you that their father is having an affair, they say they know this because they saw the father at the local shop holding hands with another woman, so my answer to it is 'no'
why I say that is because we are not sure about it until we're sure of what axactly is going on with the parents of the children by observing them each day if theres any changes in their behavior from home to care centre
Appreciate any thoughts

Thanks

That's right. We shouldn't get involved in family matters unless it affects the child within our care. Whether the father/mother is having an affair is not our concern. Our only concern is the child. If the child is displaying any unusual behaviour then we can ask the parents if there has been any changes within the home environment and then we can take it from there...

Hope this helps,
