Scenario: Cook Putting Bacon In Quiche Regardless Of Cultural Restrictions

Post by Daye » Sat Sep 26, 2015 11:25 pm

Scenario:
The cook has put bacon in the quiche and you have several children who,due to their cultural restrictions, do not eat pork products such as bacon. You noticed this before the lunches were served to the children.

Questions:
A) What would you do to ensure family preferences are followed?
B) How could this type of situation be prevented in the future.

Answer:
A. I will approach the cook and tell her that I've saw that she put bacon in the quiche, I will ask her if she was informed by the Director that there are children who due to their cultural restrictions do not eat pork product, and because she puts bacon in the quiche I will tell her that I will not allow other children to eat the quiche with bacon and give them an alternative food to eat instead.I will also inform her that because we are all working together it is our duty to respect other families references when it comes to the food that their going to eat. That only the right food will be served for children.

B. How could this type of situation be prevented?

This situation can be prevented by providing the cook enough information about food preferences of the children.By giving the cook proper training so this kind of instances will be prevented, and also I think with this regards it is appropriate that not only the cook will be given training or awareness but as well as everybody.

Pls help.
