Minimise Waste and Promote Sustainable Practices

Post by momotayeasmin » Tue Sep 08, 2015 10:10 pm

Children’s Services use large amounts of consumables such as power, water, art/craft materials, paper, food etc. They also generate a considerable amount of waste.
Your service needs information about ways to minimise wastage and promote sustainable practice. All Educators have been asked to contribute at a staff meeting. Research and provide information on one type of sustainable practice that you could share at the staff meeting?

Sustainable Practice
Name of Source:
(What publication, website or documents did you use)
Information points to share at staff meeting :They share lots of things at the staff meeting about Recycling, using gray water, compost bin, turn of taps and turn of lights to reserve the energy.

My assessor tell me that You are required to find a resource ( publication, website or document) linked to sustainable practices within early childhood and research and provide information on one type of sustainable practice from this to share at the staff meeting- Please ensure this is different to the website listed in Q5 (B) -You have not readdressed this question.

But I can;t understand that what will be the answer?

Sustainable Practice Information points to share at staff meeting
Name of Source: Water
http://aussiechildcarenetwork.com.au/ar ... -childcare
(What publication, website or documents did you use) Water
• Teach and educate children on water saving (turning taps off, using half flush).
• Install a rain water tank for water play and gardening.
• Put mechanical timers on the children’s taps.
• Add mulching to gardens to reduce water needs.
• Repair leaks.

QUESTION (5B)

Document one website for the staff meeting that your fellow Educators and families could access to find out more about sustainable practices?
Eco Resource Kit For Childcare Services – Uniting Care Gippsland
http://www.ucgipps.org.au/wp-content/up ... ersion.pdf

Can you check now that is it correct or not?

Please help me to give correct answer.
