Ratios In The Nursery & Programming Time

Post by MummyDee » Wed Jul 22, 2015 4:12 pm

HI there,

Im wondering what you feel acceptable ratios in a 12-24 month room. say 13 children... how many staff would you expect in the room?

Also, how many hours a week do you get to do planning and observation write ups?

Thanks :D

The ratio for the babies room is 1:4 (NSW). So, for 13 children you are required to have 4 staff.

According to the Children's Services Award:

Employees who are responsible for preparing, implementing and/or evaluating a developmental program get a minimum of 2 hours per week to plan, prepare, evaluate and program activities. These 2 hours count as part of their ordinary hours.

Hope this helps,
