CHCECE004 - Replacing Dairy With A Substitute

Post by Eilleen » Sat Jun 06, 2015 3:09 pm

Q. If a child had an allergy to dairy products, what could you Tell the parent if they suggested you just
remove dairy from a recipe and not replace it with any substitute?

My answer sort of

I am not sure of the answer. I would have assumed that you should explain to the parent that you can completely
remove the milk from a child's diet as they need some sort of lactose/milk ????

Can you help please

If you are taking Dairy out of a recipe then it does need to be replaced as the dairy in the recipe is providing calcium and nutrients. So, if you take Dairy out of the recipe then the nutrients and calcium content will be lost so that's why it needs to be replaced...(I think)...
