Scenario: Weakness Of Behaviour Management Practices

Post by Amelia Sarah Kim » Mon Jun 01, 2015 7:37 pm

I'm in need of help as I don't understand what this question means!

Case Study 2
During a committee meeting of parents and staff it was agreed that there is a weakness in the behaviour management systems/practices being implemented at the centre. In particular, there was discussion about the ongoing problems of one child’s aggressive outbursts and the impact this is having on other children and staff.

What types of support can be offered to the centre and staff? (minimum 50 words)

Hi Amelia,

Just some ideas here, maybe some outside training on behaviour management? Ensuring all staff are consistent when dealing with that specific child... put in place behaviour management plans for the child and ensure that everyone sticks to it. Staff may need to speak to the parents and ask them what strategies they use when the child has an outburst, see what works (or even doesn't work) for them and perhaps use that in the centre?

I haven't had that question myself and don't work in childcare but those are just a few things that came to mind! I hope it helps :)
