Evacuation Rehearsal With Babies, Toddlers & Kindy Children

Post by Qld_student » Wed Apr 15, 2015 4:05 pm

Hi,
I've got this question on an assessment. Can you offer any other ideas, or comment on what I've done so far to answer it? Thanks! The question is:

In the following table:
a. Provide three strategies on how you would explain and practise emergency and evacuation procedures with each group below:
• Babies and toddlers
• Kindergarten children

b. Provide two activities that you might use to prepare children for emergencies, for each of the age groups listed above.

I think you have answered each of the questions well!

Just a small suggestion for Babies and Toddlers during the explanation:

- "That's a very loud sound but it's OK. We are going to keep you all safe...." (then add what you said). The babies and toddlers may be scared of the noise or the commotion so you just need to reassure them.

The rest of your strategies are fine!
