Your Assignment Module Number and Heading: CHCCN301C
Your Assignment Type: Standard Question
Currently Working in Childcare? No
Your knowledge: Beginner

Your Question?
Supervision at meal times is a great way of to interact with children, but there is a higher possibility of choking when mixing talking and eating. How can you provide a safe, interactive, energetic environment at meal times? List the considerations and the benefits of your ideas.

What is your answer so far or What have you done so far as an attempt to solve this question?
Serve food that is the appropriate size and textures for the age and ability of the children eating, avoid nuts and other hard foods that are difficult for young children to swallow, do not force feed children, and make sure children are seated quietly at meal times.

Am I on the right track and what are the considerations and benefits of these ideas?

Description and Message:

Yes I think you are on the right track with your response... You could also include:

- Encourage children to finish eating what's in their mouth before talking
- Talk to children in between eating
- Limit conversations until children have finished their meals

Hope this helps,

:geek:,
