Your Question?
Hi i am currently studying my Diploma in my own time and i am currently completing Foster Cognitive Development in Early Childhood.
I am stuck on Practice Task 2 describe how you would provide an opportunity for experiencing consequences. I need to include your action plan and the child's learning experience.
1. Jill is 3 and a half and Harry is 18 months. Jill wants to eat Harry's sandwich. She say's she doesn't like hers but they are exactly the same.
2. Latisha is 2 and is building a very tall tower out of blocks. The next few blocks are considerably larger then the ones underneath.
3. Remi is 5 and decides he wants to take all his clothes off because it it's hot outside. He runs outside to begin.
I also need to construct a learning game that encourages children to observe and learn from thier surroundings.
would a mini routine outing to a library be appropriate?
What is your answer so far or What have you done so far as an attempt to solve this question?
routine outing to the library.
showing Jill that both sandwitches have the same filling.
showing Latisha the size difference in blocks and building a tower showing her the difference.
explaining to Remi the weather such as a weather chart and why we need to keep our clothes on.

Re: Assisting children to develop thinking and problem solving skills
From the question, I think your responses need to show more of a consequence (what will happen in each of the scenario) rather than what to say to try and diffuse the scenario. For example:
1. Jill is 3 and a half and Harry is 18 months. Jill wants to eat Harry's sandwich. She say's she doesn't like hers but they are exactly the same.
The consequence would be something like if Jill eats Harry's sandwich then Harry will be hungry and wont have anything to eat. Also, sharing of food is not allowed as it spreads germs. We only share food with families. An experience would be getting Jill to help make the lunches.
Does this makes sense?
It say's also in your question you need to include an action plan? Do you an example of this or do you have to do your own?
Hopefully I'm on the right track,
,

Hi yes when you put it like that it makes sense i think i was stuck on what i actuàlly had to do & how to go sbout it inerd to include a action plan for each scenario i havent got a example yet. Thanks for your reply its really helped
Re: CHCFC505A - Opportunities For Experiencing Consequences
No worries! Glad to help!
I think with the action plan you will need to include the name of experience, the goal (what child is working towards), materials needed, step by step method, strategies etc. Not too sure but this is my understanding of an action plan....
