Here are a few tips for helping your children develop resilience:

When you see that a child is struggling or having a hard time, empathize with him. Be sure not to brush off his feelings. Try using language like “I know you’re really disappointed and that you wanted to do better.”
Explain to the child that everyone fails and offer a story about a time when you yourself failed. You can model for the child how to handle frustration and disappointment. Remember, kids are always watching and taking cues from those around them.
Look at failure as a chance to teach the child a lesson about resiliency. Talk through what went wrong and use problem solving skills to come up with a plan for what to do next time.
If at first you don’t succeed, try again. Remind the child that they can try again and use this failure as a learning experience.

Hope this helps,

Hope following ideas will help you:

There are at least 3 factors to consider:
  • the first lesson has to do with defining the purpose of failure, not (yet) the feelings around failure.

the next lesson is the attitude toward failure. Failure feels terrible, to be honest. It is not supposed to feel good, or it "fails" to serve us the important information it must serve.

the third lesson is the decision after the failure. Now what? We have this information, we know what may have happened to create this, what are we going to do about it?
