How do you convince an infant to sleep late on the weekend?

An infant can't sleep in... They usually have a routine that has to be followed daily... Infants need round the clock care and you can't make them sleep in...

Hi,
I had four children of my own and every one of them went to bed at 6:30pm and woke just before daylight even if I put them to bed later. Every now and then I would try letting them stay up a bit more, they would still wake at the same time but they were grumpy during the day.
I do care for some families now that their little ones sleep in on the weekends but in saying that they have been out till 11pm and they do sleep in, but the poor little darling are so tired come Monday in care that our whole day is all over the place with some 3&4 year olds asking to go to bed at 10am and others not wanting to join in on activities.
In saying that my husband and I always had many hours every evening when our kids were little to spend together, we found it really good, try and find the positives.
