Hi Mani,

I know how frustrating it can be when you are trying to have a baby, you do everything right (wait for the right ovulation date etc) and then when you think that this could be it, you get your period! I think the more anxious and the more pressure you are in wanting to have a baby the less likely it will happen. It brings a lot of stress and worry to both you and your husband each time you have sex because you are both wondering whether or not you will conceiving a baby. As hard as it may be try not to think about it, have fun, relax and enjoy each other.

You can buy an ovulation kit from the pharmacy this tells you exactly when you are most likely to conceive during the month by measuring your hormone level. You could give this a try. Also with your first son, did it take this long to conceive him?

Have you been using the pill as a contraception? If you are over 30 it could take awhile to conceive a baby as well.

There are many reasons why you may not be able to conceive straight away...for some women it can take up to a year before they are successful.

It always happens when you least expect it ;)!

Thanks L.A. it is very frustrating. I am 33 years old now and first time it was so quick then I was 29 years old. actually I am running family day care and doing diploma. sometimes I feel so stressed too. I think may be that's the reason. I always check on internet about ovulation days and doing sex these days but it didn't work so this Thursday we r going to see doctor to get some help. Thanx heaps bye

I think stress plays a major factor... Let's just say as soon I went on holidays I fell pregnant immediately! :giggle:

How did it go at the doctors?

As you get older fertility declines & that is just a fact. If you are concerned it is good to go to a doctor or fertility specialist however your GP will not refer you to a specialist unless you have been trying for over a year while having sex for at least 2 times / week and not conceiving.
Sometimes trying to have a baby can take over your life which means more stress on you mentally & physically.
I know this won't help you but I have been trying for nearly 10 years with no successful pregnancies or births.

Don't stress on your mind... and you can consult the specialist and best of luck ...
