I really need help with that one. I need to give an example of workforce sustainability and I am so confused with that one. My answer is:
Encourage all staff of the childcare to take part in additional training to up-date their qualification. The childcare centre Manager can organize courses after work for their employees (for instance First Aid course).
My assessor send me this message:
Yes you are on the right track as training is a very important part of workforce sustainability, but it is also about maintaining a stable and effective workforce, so it can involve such topics as: making sure that the workplace is safe both physically and psychologically by having effective WHS inspection and maintenance systems so that staff do not get sick (physically or emotionally) or injured. It is also about making sure that children understand the need for both parents to work so that their economic status is not compromised.
How can I answer that question?

Re: Workforce sustainability
I thinking to put there "make sure all educators have an appropriate health and safety training. Make sure that we regularly inspect and maintain the smoke alarms and that the setting has health and safety polices in place"
Would that be enough?

Re: Workforce sustainability
That's what I got from my teacher regarding my last answer:
Yes, that information also sounds appropriate, but please don't forget that it is not just about physical safety and well being but also about psychological safety and well being as that is just as important and also determines the movement of staff to and from child care centres.
So can anyone help me please what else I should include there??
