Hi ,
please give some clues for this case study, thanks .

Susan Pearson has been happily working as the assistant at Childcare Centre for several years. A few months ago the group leader she had been working with was moved to a different room and Tina , a new member of staff, became group leader in the room.

Initially, Susan found Tina a little difficult to work with but put it down to her being new at the centre. Tina is often rude and abusive to Susan and has recently started expecting her to do part of the group leader’s role as well as completing her own workload. Susan is finding it increasingly difficult to work with Tina and has even started thinking about finding a new job.

Background: You have been given the role of acting as supervisor whilst the Nominated Supervisor is away on bereavement leave.
You have been monitoring the staff while the children have been playing outside and found that the assistant has been standing with her back to the children and occasionally leaving the area without informing others, leaving staff ratios too low to meet requirements.
You have spoken to the licensee regarding this issue and they would like you to talk to her.

questions:
1.How and when would you approach the Assistant to deal with this situation.
2.Describe what you would discuss with the Assistant in order for them to meet centre requirements in their performance?
3.As part of the discussion the Assistant blames her performance on not understanding the requirements for supervision in her role?
a) Identify how this may have occurred; and
b) Suggest options to provide the Assistant with the appropriate skills and knowledge to perform her duties correctly.

1.as manager of this centre, i will set up a performance appraisal for all team members, appraisal provides the feedback essential to good performance.
I was stuck here.
thanks a lots....
