Stages Of Team Development

Post by Lillypad88 » Thu Mar 24, 2016 1:54 pm

• Stages of Team Growth, Cole. K., (2013).

I need to match these explanations to the correct stage of team development and I cannot find these writings anywhere.

I. Codes of behaviour, customs and norms are established both formally and informally as the team resolves how it functions day to day and how it makes decisions. Team members begin to make progress with the task and start to have fun with each other. They respond to the leader and become more skilled in working with one another. Accountability is shared and team members have a clear understanding of one another’s roles and responsibilities and accepting of each other’s differences and talents.
II. Due to a number of circumstances this is the final stage for some teams. Feelings of loss and sadness are common with team members committing to meet again in the future.
III. In this phase conflict and in-fighting occur as people explore their difference in aims, values and working styles. Teams members are tense, cliques may form and power struggles may develop. Productivity remains low and decisions don’t come easily as th team deals with the difficulties of agreeing common goals, working principles and procedures.
IV. Individuals within the team have little common understanding about the team’s aims, individual roles and responsibilities. Team members must sort out what their purpose is, what their relationships to each other are and where they fit into the team. Personal feelings such as apprehension and anxiety are common and people will be careful, cautious and conscious of themselves and each other.
V. In this stage the team is creative, harmonious and productive. They are clear about the task and why it is important and team members work independently or in combination to achieve more together than they can individually. Productivity, satisfaction, loyalty and cohesion are high and open communication, close teamwork; flexibility, innovation, resourcefulness and trust are evident.
Answer:
Could it be these?
Stage 1: Forming
Stage 2: Storming
Stage 3: Norming
Stage 4: Performing
Stage 5: Adjourning
Although they are Tuckman's stages?
Could someone please help?
Thank you
