Scenarios: Ellen, Connie and Kate

1)- Ellen, a senior educator, is not happy to have a young male trainee working with the infants and toddlers.

a.How would you respond to Ellen?
b.Please explain your response in detail explaining why this is the most effective strategies.

2)- Kate asks her second-in-charge Adam to work with other senior educators to set up and coordinate a mentoring program for the new trainees. Adam is a little nervous; while he has been involved in one-to-one mentoring, he has no experience in coordinating a mentoring program.

a.What would you say to Adam?
b.Please explain your response in detail explaining why this is the most effective strategies.


3)-Connie, a certificate 3 trainee, struggles to complete her daily tasks. As the day progresses she gets further and further behind. Adam, her supervisor, has decided to take on a coaching role to help Connie manage her time and complete task efficiently.

a.Discuss what would be involve in the coaching role.
b.Please explain your response in detail explaining why this is the most effective strategies.


4)- Kate makes a conscious decision to curb the comments from the more outspoken educators, in order to allow the quieter ones an opportunity to speak.

a.List some strategies on how Kate could achieve this goal.
