Scenario: Max - Abused By A Volunteer

Post by Jennifer Anne » Mon Sep 26, 2016 1:35 pm

Maxwell a 5yr old and has been abused and a volunteer has heard that he has been abused and asks you if it's true? How has this created an ethical dilemma?
My answer I thought may have been to do with a breach of privacy but I have a feeling that there is more to the answer!!!

Yes, you're on the right track... It's a breach of privacy and confidentiality...

Even though you may want to discuss it with another educator/volunteer you are not allowed to... It's confidential information so you just have to apologise that you are not to discuss privacy issues with others...
