I have come across this question and was wondering if anyone had any ideas. Here is the question.
"You are serving morning tea and passing out cups to the children fo their drink.Handing Lance (aged 4) the purple cup he says "I don't want that cup, it's a girls cup." How would you interact positively wth Lance and ensure that you maintain his dignity and rights.
As with most of the questions the answer is not jumping out at me in the learn guide.
My response would perhaps be to go and get another colour cup for Lance but I am not sure if this is the answer I should be giving.?????
Thanks in advance.

Re: develop positie and respectful relationships with children
apologies for the spelling error in the subject line I have the flu and my concentration is all over the place.
Re: Scenario: Lance - Not Wanting The Purple Cup
Maybe you could say something like:
"Do you know that Joker from Batman wears the colour purple... I don't think he'd be wearing a purple jacket if it's a girls colour. If you would like you can choose another colour or you can use a purple cup like Joker"....
I'm just trying to relate the colour "purple" to a male character to show it isn't a girly colour...
Hope you're feeling better!
