Referencing on Workbooks

Post by CarolR » Sun May 22, 2016 4:31 pm

Hi Everyone,

I'm a bit confused about the level of referencing you need to include in your workbook. A lot of the time I am writing things in my own words, however sometimes I take information from websites/articles and then reword it my own way - do you need to record the source everytime you do this?
Also sometimes the answer is in the form of bullet points and it has been taken from a different source - do you need to reference even for bullet points?
Do you need to reference if you take information from the course learner guide?

Any help would be greatly appreciated as I'm really getting anxious I could be doing all my work wrong.

Thanks

You will need to reference any information that used in your responses that are not your original ideas. Even if you are re-wording what you have read from an article/website into your own words these will still have to be referenced... So, when answering a question and you got information from a website you will have to add that link under your response. Example - Sourced from:

Hope this helps,

Hi Lorina,

Great thanks for your help.

Do you have to follow Harvard Referencing or simply just list the article/website underneath?

As from what I've seen, students have listed there references underneath. If you are doing something more formal such as an essay or report etc. then you may have to use Harvard Referencing but this is typically used for uni assignments etc.
