Referencing A Textbook

Post by Peppapug » Tue Apr 21, 2015 2:53 pm

Hi everyone, so I am now starting my unit in 'Develop cultural competence'. The textbook has references in it, I am wanting to know if I'm getting my answers from the textbook itself and obliviously writing it in my own words, do I still need to reference it for each assessment and how?

Yeah, if you're getting any type of information whether it's from a book, internet, article etc. you will need to reference it. Even if you're writing it in your own words, any ideas that aren't yours, need referencing.

Here is how:

Basic Format for Books

Author, A. A. (Year of publication). Title of work: Capital letter also for subtitle. Location: Publisher.

For example:

Calfee, R. C., & Valencia, R. R. (1991). APA guide to preparing manuscripts for journal publication. Washington, DC: American Psychological Association.

Hope this helps,
