For this assessment you will need to provide four examples of how you have communicated effectively with a child, within an approved early childhood education and care service.
Within your examples you will need to explain how you incorporated the following skills during the interactions.
1. Active listening – how did you demonstrate this during the interaction?
2. Consideration of a child’s age, activities, interests, culture and/or needs – how did you demonstrate your consideration of the child’s individual needs?
3. Interpreting the non-verbal cues of the children – what non-verbal cues did the child demonstrate during the interaction?
4. Responding to distress in ways that meets the child’s needs – how did you respond to the child during the interaction?
