For this task you're required to investigate and document your involvement in two examples of pedagogical practices and principles in an education and care service. If you are currently not working in a regulated education and care service you will need to complete this task when you are undertaking your 140 hours of practical placement.

The following reference from the early years learning framework provides a summary of the different pedagogical practices that educators apply in the workplace:

The principles of early childhood pedagogy underpin practice. educators draw on a rich repertoire of pedagogical practices to promote children's learning by:

- adopting holistic approaches
- being responsive to children
- planning and implementing learning through play
- intentional teaching
- creating physical and social learning environments that have a positive impact on children's learning
- valuing the cultural and social contexts of children and their families
- providing for continuity in experiences and enabling children to have successful transition
- assessing and monitoring children's learning to inform provision and to support children in achieving learning outcomes

For each pedagogical practices that you document your involvement in, address the following:

a) The pedagogical practices and principles that were applied
b) A brief summary of your involvement in the pedagogical practice
c) How you worked in collaboration with others to apply the principles and practices and the learning outcomes of the learning framework
d) A reflection of your role in the practice - i.e what did you do well? What could you improve on? As part of your supervisor and Trainer?Assessor.
