Hi Wendy,

I don't know what a value laden term means but I think I can help you with this question.
Exactly what is "normal"? no two people or families are the same. We are from different cultural backgrounds with different interests, strengths, and beliefs. Each family will be different, some consist of two parents, some families are single parents, some are same sex parents. There are families where the child's grandparents could live with them or be a big part of their lives, some families have the extended family as a big part of the child/children lives. Some families have pets where some do not. Some families have one child where as others have two or more children. The age gap between the children is different, as is if the children are all girls, all boys or both genders. Environmental factors can also have an impact.

Thats all I can come up with now. I hope it helps>
