Your Assignment Module Number and Heading: CHCCN511B
Your Assignment Type: Case Scenario
Currently Working in Childcare? Yes
Your knowledge: Basic Knowledge

Your Question?
9. An educator in your team (Mel) has asked to take a group of small children on a walking excursion to the nearby garden nursery to buy some small seedlings. The children have expressed an interest in plants and their growth. Mel would like to take twelve 4 year olds.

a) You will need to monitor every step of the process. What are the key issues which need to be covered?
b) What regulations are involved?
c) What policies and procedures are involved and how will they help in the planning and implementation of the excursion?

What is your answer so far or What have you done so far as an attempt to solve this question?
I've answered a & c but I can never seem to find just a list of child care regulations.

So far, I have "health and safety of children and authorisation for excursions" but i don't even think these are the proper names for actual regulations. Is there a website that just has a list of the child care regulations that aren't confusing? Sorry if this was a stupid question.

Depending on what state you are in, and also what type of regulations and act your Centre is licensed for. I would be looking at the National regulations, unless specified on your assignment (state). You do mention the "authorization for excursions" above which is correct also look at your ratios for excursions, which is in line with your normal Centre ratios. go into more detail on first aid, emergency procedure and risk assessments for children with allergies, asthma etc. permission forms etc, These all need to be considered :) hope this helps
