Rephrase sentences to exclude the word ‘normal’ or ‘norms’ to describe people.
For example, rather than saying ‘It is normal for Australians to speak English,’ say ‘Most Australians speak English’. You are then showing recognition of the differences in others and also encouraging others to recognise this.
