Hi whoever who may be able to help,
I am trying to write how evacuation procedures are communicated to staff i.e including how do staff know there is an emergency drill.
How the evacuation procedures are communicated to all in the service
• The evacuation procedures are communicated to staff through the the service’s emergency evacuation policy which outlines the procedures of what to do in the case of an emergency.
• Staff meeting are a great time for staff to review and reflect upon the service’s emengency plans and procedures relating to an emergency.
• New employees are given an induction on the emergency procedures of the service in the case of an enmergency and are given a copy of the service’s emergency evacuation policy.
• Ensure that emergency evacuation procedures are displayed throughout the premises and near each exit. This includes an emergency floor plan and instructions of what to do in an emergency situation. (Regulation 97).
• Staff will be notified of a planned evacuation drill is being taking place including the date and time.
• Sometimes ‘blind drills’ will be conducted by unannounced. Staff will have a secret code/word of they use in the case of a ‘blind drill’.
