Developing a QIP and self assessment

Post by sarahch » Sun Oct 26, 2014 1:44 pm

Your Assignment Module Number and Heading: CHC50113 CHCCS400C CHCECE019
Your Assignment Type: Standard Question
Currently Working in Childcare? No
Your knowledge: Advanced Knowledge

Your Question?
In my diploma course i have to develop my own quality improvement plan and self assessment ( to get the answers for my QIP) I have to cover Quality Areas 1- educational program and practice
Area 5- Relationships with children
Area 6- Collaborative partnerships with families and communities

What is your answer so far or What have you done so far as an attempt to solve this question?
QA1- do you believe children are given the opportunity to contribute to the activities they are involved in on a daily basis?
Is each individuals progress documented for family and educators to review?
Are room leaders given the appropriate time to program and plan?
Are activities stimulating for each child, why, why not?

QA5-
Do educators give enough interaction time to each child?
Are children encouraged and supported to work individually and as a group?
What are educators relationships like with children?
Do you believe children feel safe and included when at the center?

This is all i have managed to come up with at the moment. Having a bit of a mind blank :/

Description and Message:
For each Quality Area listed i need to come up with at least 10 questions i can ask to gain some insight into the improvements and strengths the center has in each Quality Area. The questions will be asked to staff members. I have listed the questions i have come up with so far in relation to QA1 and 5 which i have started. Any help would be appreciated :) Thank you.

That's a really good start! The questions you have come up with so far are well thought out...

I am adding a copy of the Guide To The NQS. Within the guide, under each of the quality areas it asks questions to help educators to determine if they are meeting the requirements of that particular area. This should help you come up with more questions for your response.

Hope this helps,

A sample of self assessment that is then used to complete the QIP.
I need a sample of any childcare so that I can create my own.
