Confidentality with suspected abuse

Post by Claireskie » Tue Jun 06, 2017 9:04 pm

Hey guys i really need help I'm running out of time to complete my assignments and I'm so worried my about to fail...
I'm over thinking things I think but I'm not happy with one of my responses completely ! HELP
Question:

5. When dealing with suspected or alleged child abuse why is it important not to disclose or use the information in a way that breaches confidentiality?
My ANSWER SO FAR:

Main priority is to keep the child safe and this includes personal information about child abuse and allowing myself to continue our trusting relationship between the child (especially if they have disclosed the information). If I was to discuss suspected abuse with anyone that does not need to be involved(my director/responsible persons and this can include other educators who work directly with the child such as one other educator in a room with 20 4 year old kids with 2 educators working in there, allowing both to be able to continue to observe, recording, and reporting any other signs of abuse) and following the services policies and procedures and my obligation as a mandatory reporter.
As an educator in the service it is my role to uphold the services policies and procedures including confidently and discussing with others can indanger the child. as an educator without witnessing abusing I am reporting my suspected abuse so discussing with parents could indanger the child of further abuse if it is a parent that is the abuser and thinks that they child may have said something, they could withdraw the child from the service preventing the child from help. I must adhere to the National Law and Standards and Keep them Safe.
