Feet first
Allie had a great long weekend, she had gone camping with a group of friends - they had bush walked, abseiled and gone rock climbing. The only casualty had been Allie’s feet. She had gotten blisters from her new boots. Allie did not want to take the day off work so she arrived on Tuesday wearing open-toed sandals. Later that morning Allie dropped a tin of paint which landed on her foot and broke her toe.

SCENARIO 2:
Just a joke!
Paul and Annie were on their lunch break when Istarlin entered the room, kneeled and began to quietly pray. Paul looked at Annie and they both rolled their eyes. Annie began to laugh and said, “We’ll have to change the name of the centre to the child care mosque!”
Istarlin reported the comment to her supervisor. When questioned, Annie and Paul defended themselves – ‘We were just joking!’

Re: CHCORG506E breaches to policy/procedure scenario
Scenario 1:
In the staff handbook it should mention a policy that details correct clothes and shoes for staff to wear. Allie had breached this policy by not wearing correct shoes as stated in the staff handbook therefore breaking her toe. However, Allie's supervisor should of mentioned this policy to Allie and made her wear correct foot wear before continuing on with work.
Here is a sample policy: Educator/Staff Dress Code
Scenario 2:
The comments made by Paul and Annie are unethical, biased and racist! They are in breach of Cultural Diversity/Cultural Acceptance policy/ Code of Ethics etc.
They should be given a formal warning.
Since you work in childcare have a look at the policy and procedure manual. It will help you with these questions...
