CHCORG506E - Managing Work Place Conflict

Post by tracie30 » Sat Oct 17, 2015 7:13 pm

Hi guys I just need help with this assignment

Assessment 4 Questions

1 What is your understanding of managing conflict in the workplace? Give 2 examples of when you have managed conflict.
• My understanding of managing conflict in the workplace when personalities clash, when team members perceive interference from one another, employees feel unable to progress due to another’s actions. Conflict involves an ongoing situation, unlike dispute, which is a one-off incident. If a dispute goes unresolved, it can cause a conflict situation. Managing a conflict should talk directly to the educator or other staff member they have the problem with. Together, they should try to resolve the issue and develop possible solutions to ensure the situation does not arise again. I think all educator and staff members are always encouraged to communicate openly with Management, the Approved Provider/Nominated Supervisor, and other staff members and to discuss any concerns informally, or at the staff meetings.
Two examples –
• When staff arguing about shift changing
• When staff member not pulling their weight with the room work
• Dispute about supervised the children inside and outside area
• Lack of communication between staff
2 If a staff member was found to be breaching workplace legislations and regulations, explain the process you would follow and what documentation you may issue.
Documentation is:
code of conduct
ethical conduct policy
3 If a staff members performance was unsatisfactory what counselling and support could you offer to improve their performance?
4 How and when can you inform staff of workplace regulations and legislations in which they must be aware of and follow in relation to WHS, Child protection, EEO, Anti-Bias/Inclusion and all other workplace policies and practises?
