I have a question in this unit that asks us to introduce actitivites to work with children who have expressed an interest in farm animals and how those activities would respond to and follow up on those interests, what skills will children develop as a result of these activities and how could we cater for various learning styles.
My thoughts on this topic started with the obvious a visit to the child care centre of small farm animals or perhaps a visit to a farm, also printing out activity sheets and art and craft activities but that is just about where I run out of ideas.I am at a total loss re the catering for learning styles question however.Hoping that someone may be able to point me in the right direction.????
Thanks in advance.

Re: CHCECE022 - Introducing Farm Activities
There is a lot you can do...At the top of my head you can:
- add farm animal figurines to block corner/sandpit/playdough for children to play
- read sing "old McDonald"
- talk about the types of animals on the farm, what they eat, what sounds they make, how they help on the farm (cow gives milk, sheep give wool etc.).
- use boxes to create a farm house or farm animals
- pick a farm animal and find out more information about it (you could do a farm animal of the day for example).
- find videos on Youtube about farms which the children can watch
Hope this helps,
