Case study - Part C
Question 1 - Identify the case study where the child's behaviour is due to situational factors within the service and how you have arrived at this conclusion.
> This case study identify where the child's behaviour is due to situational factors within the service are, Christopher is complete ignore all the requests made by the new educator. And now he is complete to refuse to comply with requests from the other staff members and will not cooperative with other children in the group.
> Christopher plays cooperatively with the young children and tends to interact more positively with girls than boys.
>The other children particularly the older boys have begun to tease Christopher about his play calling him 'sissy' and refusing to play with him.
Question 6 - How would you go about changing the situation to encourage more appropriate behaviour? What else could i do?
* talking to the children during the group time and read them a storybook about appropriate behaviour and changes. Develop relationship with the child's interest through the activity he likes to play.
Question 7 - How can you work with the child to assist them in understanding appropriate behaviours while encouraging and supporting the child to self regulate and manage their own behaviour? what other ways can you make this occur?
* Talk about it and assure them that doing something wrong will be consequence for their action, when they do the right thing will praise them with a clapping your hands, hi five them or a sticker poster.
Assessment 2 -
1. Why is this important to maintain a consistent approach when managing children behaviour? what other reasons is consistency important?
> It's important to maintain a consistent approach when managing children's behaviour because the children needs constantly reminder and how important is to keep them in the right paths. the children need to learn how to maintain and manage their behaviour with other children around them.
> Behaviour can cause between home and anywhere for example, child care centre but when a child is not in the morning the whole day will affect by it. they will act out like say silly remarks to their friends or hurting other children around them.
- question 2 -How can cultural differences impact on our judgement about the children's behaviour? how does it affect your judgement of children?
>Stereo-types the children in their own tradition/cultural
>Expect certain behaviour changes from their own cultural
>As a parent behavioural expectations is higher than what is actually developmentally appropriate for the children.
