CHCECE007 - Consulting With The Children About Physical Activities

Post by mrsgrozy » Mon Jul 13, 2015 9:06 am

Hi,

I hope someone can help me with my answers below.

1. If you were planning a physical activity for a group of children in your care, how would you consult with the children?

A: If I am planning a physical activity for a group of children in my care, I would consult with the children in ways that are developmentally appropriate and meaningful to them. I will provide the children with opportunities to express their views and ideas that are meaningful to them.

2. Three-year-old Louise has a dog at home. She wants to bring the dog with her, to child care, every day. She asks you whether that would be okay, and can the dog sit in with her during story time?

A: I will tell Louise that unfortunately, she can’t bring her dog to child care every day because this is not permitted in the child care centre.

I would appreciate any help.

Thank you.

Your answers are good. If you like, you can add the following ideas to your answers

1. If you were planning a physical activity for a group of children in your care, how would you consult with the children?

You may ask them what would they like to do. Provide them opportunities to make decisions. You can also assist them to make decision. For example: you may suggest playing obstacle course or dancing and let them choose.

Whatever they choose, you will consult them on how to choose materials/ equipment or how to set up.

2. Three-year-old Louise has a dog at home. She wants to bring the dog with her, to child care, every day. She asks you whether that would be okay, and can the dog sit in with her during story time?

You may tell her she can bring a photo of her dog to the centre. You and her can make a frame for the picture and she can introduce her dog to her friends by using the photo.
