Hi I am currently studying the Diploma online and have been stumped on this for a few hours, I have so far read through the 4 options further into their own websites but they all say similar things which is leaving me confused, the question and answers to choose from are:
In July 2009, the Council of Australian Governments (COAG) endorsed Australia’s first overarching national strategy for early childhood development.
What is the name of the national body responsible for providing oversight of the quality early childhood education and care system?
1. Australian Children’s Education and Care Quality Authority (ACECQA)
2. Education Queensland
3. National Childcare Accreditation council (NCAC)
4. Childcare Services Australia (CSA)
Thank you for your time and help

CHCCS400C - Scenario: Educator Slapping Child
Ok guys I have this question and I am a little stuck onto where I should receive info from. Can any one help please
One morning, you (as the Assistant Director) are discussing a situation with the Lead Educator, in the 2 year old room, when a child swears at the Assistant Educator in the room. When the assistant Educator bends down to speak to the child, the child spits in her face. The assistant Educator slaps the child across the face, then bursts into tears.
At that moment, the Lead Educator informs you that she has noticed indicators of increased stress from the Assistant Educator. She mentions that she did not ever feel that this stress would impact the way that the Assistant Educator would care for the children.
First question but there is a few so need to know when I should look read info
1. Identify your service’s policies and explain the procedures that you would be required to follow in this situation
Thanks

Re: CHCCS400C - Scenario: Educator Slapping Child
Policies can include:
- child safety
- child behaviour
- child abuse
- ethical conduct etc.
- behaviour management
If you need access to a list of policies and procedures just search in Google any you should be able to find a copy.
In regards to what to do next - you need to remove the assistant educator from the situation, comfort the child, ring the director and let them know what happened, all educators who witnessed the incident should write what they observed and sign it, calm the assistant educator down and let director speak with her, write an incident report...
Hope this gives you a start,
