hi i need help with this task. pls help.
Scenario
you are planning to take a group of 10 preschool children(4-5 years)to the local park to feed the ducks at the pond, and to have a play on playground equipment. the park is two blocks away from the centre so it is an easy walk. you will have to cross two roads where there are pedestrian crossing.
My answer so far.
1. Identify the potential hazards involved in this mini excursion.
ans:-Crossing two roads with preschooler children, feeding ducks in pond which is supervision of water.
2.what considerations need to be made before this excursion.
ans:- Adults ratio for supervising the children in excursion. As there is a pond where we will feed duck so the most supervision will be needed. Children will be needed to supervise children while walking and crossing. The authorisation from parents for the excursion. Asking parents if they want to come.
3. Suggest two strategies that educator could use to minimise the risk to children.
ans:- while walking children will be taken in group of 5 holding hands while crossing. Children will be supervised near the pond at all time while feeding the duck only 4 children will be taken. Regular scanning and listening to children while they are playing on the playground.
Please help. Thanks in advance.
