Strategy to Reduce, Re-Use and/or Recycle

Post by nemodori » Sun Mar 06, 2016 7:33 pm

For each area suggest two strategies that could be used to reduce, re-use or recycle.

Areas:

• energy use

• water saving

• wasteage.

I have to provide the strategies for each of them.
I wrote down -

Energy use:
• try using environment light, open curtains instead of using lights; on a sunny day.
• try to use lights when needed.

Water saving:
•storing a water tank / drums to save water.
•teaching Childrens to turn on tap when you only need it. EG. Turn tap on to wet your hands, then turn it off while you rub your hands with soap. Then turning it back on to clean your hands; then immediately turn off when you're done.

Wasteage:
• feeding the waste/left over food to chickens (if there is any provided at the Center in the outdoor.) (in the Center I do placement, has a cage of 3 hens in the outdoor of Kinder room.)
• trying to give children the amount of food you think they'll be able to have. If they want more, giving them a scoop/spoon extra.

These were my responses.. But my assessor gave it back to me

Sustainability In Childcare

Why did your assessor give it back? What comments were made on your responses?

My assessor doesn't give any comments. She only marks it correct or wrong. And returned it back. Thank you for you help :)
