Scenario: Nonna Only Speaks Italian

Post by Kaku1 » Wed Nov 23, 2016 9:01 am

Hi Lorina
(a) I m confuse

(b) what development skills is Nicola developing following the interaction?

My answer is

She start developing her language and communication cognitive and social skills.

(C)
What could you do to a knowledge and learn from Nicola heritage?

I don't know.

(D)
Imagine if instead of the reaction that the carer gave to Nicola she had said instead "it's not right when migrants come to Australia and don't learn to speak English lots of Italians have done that . Your Nonna has been in Australia for ages she should not still be talking Italian all the time, how would this interaction be breaching the code of ethics?

Thanks

From the scneario, you could get some clues... Her Nonna only speaks Itaian, they are traditional, she enjoys cokking with ehr Nonna, her Nonna is funny, Nicola knows Italian as her mum and nonna taught her etc.
