Scenario: Jeremy and Oliver

Post by Kaku1 » Sun Nov 20, 2016 5:00 pm

Hi Lorina

Jeremy and Oliver are both three years old . Jeremy is about to put a red block on the top of his tower when Oliver sees him and says my block ( Oliver has been sorting all the red blocks from the other colours) .he grabs the block from Jeremy and pushes him over and his tower goes flying . Jeremy is unhurt but is upset .what response should you make to Oliver?

My response to Oliver would be that I teach him in a friendly way that this is not a right way to grab the blocks and push him Oliver you should say sorry to Jeremy and hug him and share the blocks.

Is my response going on right track

Thanks

Maybe you can encourage Oliver to use his words and ask Jeremy if they can play together. Explain that when knocking the blocks we can't understand what he wants so if he uses his words we can try to help him. You shouldn't force kids to say sorry. You could explain that Jeremy is very upset because you knocked his blocks down and that Oliver should see if he is alright...

Hope this helps!
