Scenario: Educator Dropping A Child Home

Post by Eilleen » Wed Jun 17, 2015 9:41 pm

I am hoping someone out there can help I am stuck on a question.

The scenario is that a parent cant pick up their child as they are in a meeting and asking you to drop them home.

My answer is that we can't do that because of the ethical policy that a child has to be picked up or have someone else pick them up but to tell the centre who is picking the child up.

My main question is how will you ensure a non judgemental approach

Yes, you're right as an educator you can't drop the child home. You can tell the parent that due to centre policy that you are unable to do so but assure them that you will wait with their child until someone comes and collect them...
