Scenario: Aman - Sleep Deprived and Yelling

The team leader, Aman is tired after being up with her baby all night and you hear her yelling at two boys who were fighting over the trucks.

Questions:
1. a) Is Aman's approach to the children professional? Use the ECA Code of Ethics to explain your answer.
b) Describe how you would advocate for the rights of these children.

Answer:
A. Aman's approach to the two boys is not professional.In accordance with ECA Code of ethics as a professional it is our duty of care to act as a professional and at an ethical manner at all time, especially that she is dealing with children, as a professional its not appropriate to yell at the boys who are fighting. As a team leader Aman is expected to act to the best interest of children by asking them in a nice tone to stop fighting, and should have asked the boys whats the cause of their fight. As a professional no matter how tired she is for being up all night we have the duty not to bring the stress from home to work, especially for us who are working with children.

B. Describe how you would advocate for the right of these children.

Answer:
As someone who had witnessed what Aman did I will talk to her and inform her about her action. I will tell her that her yelling at the two boys is not the proper approach to stop the two boys who are fighting.I will tell her that as children are vulnerable, any wrong actions or behaviour that we showed children will give them negative impressions.
