Routines As Opportunities For Children To Acquire and Practice New Skills

Hi Lorina

Using examples,explains how daily routines for each age group below can be used as oppportunities for children to acquire and practice new physical skills and to learn to take responsibility for own health and well being. Explain what skills the child will be developed in each routine.

Infants and babies

Individual attention and interaction is given to each infants.throughout the day educators promote basic cognitive and social skills,singing reading ,talking and playing are the basic activities in group times,we take daily walk,educators interact with infants at their level. Educators believe that eye contact is a very important part of an infants life
When centre open it's a arrival time and free play time through which infants developing their social skills
In indoor activities I.e soft climber push toys building blocks balls puzzles through which child develop their gross ,fine , eye hand coordination social sharing skills and interaction. Before doing tea. Lunch and afternoon lunch educators wash their hands and change diapers if needed through this interaction infant may start developing there self help skills ,they also developing their gross fine social physical environmental group interaction from the outdoor activities
