Hi All. Can anyone shed some light for me on how i could answer this question or concern from the parent. I have to answer the A,B,C Questions Below. Any ideas greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance Mark.
Jonty
Jonty (17mths) attends care five days per week. He is very familiar with the routine and co-operates with carers during routine care tasks.
Jonty loves his food! Jonty always eats all of his meals and appears to enjoy the meal time routine. He always sits in the same place with the same group of children who also attend five days per week.
Jonty can use a spoon to feed himself and he can drink from a sipper cup.
Jonty’s mother, Beth, is concerned that Jonty is not eating much of his evening meal and lately is not eating his breakfast which he used to enjoy. Beth wonders if the centre should cut down on the amount of food offered to Jonty at lunch time.
Think about your responses to Beth’s concerns and the information you might offer.
A – What questions might you ask?
B – What resources/websites could you access?
C – How can the centre’s nutrition policy be used to assist the carer’s response?

Re: Provide Care For Babies
Hey Mark,
Some ideas to help you out with your questions:
A – Think about questions you could ask in regards to Jonty’s feeding schedule at home. The types of food the parents if offering. Is she letting Jonty eat by himself? Did she introduce new foods during breakfast and dinner? Is she offering / expecting Jonty to eat more then he wants?
B - Picky Eater & Baby Eating Habits
The above links are to articles available in this website regarding Baby Eating Habits and Picky Eater. You could also try searching on the internet for more information on baby’s and eating.
C- Re-read through the nutrition policy and outline all the facts about the types of foods you serve, the amount of food you serve and the daily nutritional value. This should help with your response.
