Our role as educators involves assisting children to solve conflicts when they arise. Put the following problem solving steps in order.
Define the problem. “What do you think the problem is Nick?"
Choose a solution. "OK, so, Nick, you will build the moat and Sam, you will get the water”
Help children identify their feelings. “Nick you sound like you are really frustrated."
Brain storm possible solutions. “What do you think would be a way to fix the problem Nick?”
Evaluate how the problem was resolved. "So, how did it go boys? Did it work out OK?"
Put the solution into practice. “OK Sam you need to get the water for the moat now.”
