contacting Indigenous Elders

Post by Sam84 » Thu Oct 06, 2016 9:04 pm

Hello I am new to group. I am looking to contact Aboriginal & Torres strait islander community services/ Elders for consultation. AI have a question " identify and evaluate a collection of cultural learning experiences, culturally inclusive practices or cultural celebrations from your early learning service. You will be required to reflect on what you consider an authentic experience/practice. (Minimum of 3 learning experiences/practices, with at least two experiences incorporating Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Island culture. One learning experience to include a culture unique to your community)
What consultation occurred prior and during the learning experiences/cultural practice/celebration? Evidence must be provided of where you have involved persons approved by relevant local community elders (for example community cooperative groups)?

can any one help where I can contact the aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander services who can respond me because i have tried contacting many no is giving response. just the consultation part is making very difficult.

I really appreciate your responses.

The question also asks to identify and evaluate 3 learning experiences/ practices... Have you done this?

yes Lorina I have done that but I need to consult the ATSI elders n evident it in my assessment. I live In Parramatta NSW I have tried contacting advisory services and community services but they didnt respond on email. I just have to validate that Acknowledging country is an authentic activity by elders
Thanks for your Response.

and my Assessor is necesserily asking for it Although many internet resources are generally giving permission to conduct few ATSI activities such as Acknowledgment of country, Torres Strait Islander Bracelet Activity or Flag colouring activity.
