Children and Adolescents - Dietary Guidelines

Post by TJ246 » Sat Sep 24, 2016 3:32 pm

Hey
I have to do a presentation which uses the dietary guidelines for children and adolescents and got stuck

So just a quick one if you're dealing with children and adolescents relating to the dietary guidelines would be be using (from the eat for health website) guidelines 1 2 3 4 and 5 or just 1 2 and 3 as 4 promotes breastfeeding which i see as for babies and prepare and care for your food safely is for adults.

I hope this is not confusing

Any help would be great thank you so much

Yeah I would go for all of them... Since 4 promotes breast feeding which is a necessity for children...

SORRY I should also ask if the same guidelines would apply for a question i asked and last week

Jack is 18 months old and his mother Sasha has decided that he should not have his bottle at lunch time. Jack has one bottle in the morning and one at night. For lunch Sasha has provided a bottle filled with lime cordial, a can of spaghetti and some cracker biscuits. educators have noticed the first sign on tooth decay.
part b what are the national dietary guidelines which should be encouraged for Jack
I went with 1 2 and 3 as i didnt think that 4 and 5 would be encourage towards him

Sorry I just get confused and need pointing in the right direction

Thank you so much agian
