Your knowledge: Beginner
Your Question?
I am currently doing my cert 3 online and have been given this;
Once bitten… Catlin is a teenage mother who is doing her very best to support herself and her child. She has no family support and often seeks reassurance from the carer. Over the last few days Ruby (13 mths) has begun to bite younger children. Catlin is worried that other parents will judge her as a bad parent. Today Ruby bit a 6 month old and left a nasty mark and bruise on his cheek. As Catlin walks into the room she looks at the carer and says, ‘Please tell she hasn’t bitten anyone today. I just don’t think I can cope with any more bad news!’
Any one have any ideas on how i answer this?
What is your answer so far or What have you done so far as an attempt to solve this question?
I really don't know what to put for this and am really stuck

Re: cert 3 in childrens services question
Even though this parent has already had a bad day, you will still need to inform her of the biting incident that took place. You will need to be supportive and sensitive while explaining the incident that occurred. It will also be a good idea to re-assure her of how you will deal with this biting issue in the future. I am providing a link to an article available in Resources, Child Behavior & Psychology on strategies and tips you can use to deal with a biting child. Maybe you can include some of these points in your response.
