CHCECE006 - Scenario: Alex - Making A Train

Hi!

I have reached the last question of this combined assessment and I am having trouble answering as I have absolutely no experience in childcare and no experience with trying to make 3 year olds share haha.

Question:

From the following scenario describe:
a) How you would respond to the children to discuss their behaviour with them and to develop skills to self-regulate.
b) How you would use positive support strategies to maintain the children’s self-esteem.
"There were five cardboard boxes stacked up in the art area and Alex (3yrs 6mths) decided to make a train from them. Max (4yrs) and Jas (3yrs 10mths) thought this was a good idea and wanted to make a train too. Alex wanted to use all five of the boxes and sharing became an issue. Alex became quite frustrated as he did not want to share with the other children and this led to conflict."


For part a) I would imagine I should encourage the children to share or perhaps suggest that they all work on different parts of one big train? Like I said, I have no idea about children really and I'm not sure if this is realistic or not.
I have no idea about part b.

Yes, you're on the right track...

a) You could also see if there are more boxes to use... Have the children work together...

b) Self Esteem
