Your Question?
Hi ,can somebody please help me?I am so new to all of this.Written task 5:Nappy change,i have spent hours on this and i am just confusing myself more!! I have 10 pictures ,and 13 steps to fill in from the pictures on the steps to change a nappy procedure.Steps 5,clean child using nappy wipe(no photo),step 11,Assist child down ladder (no photo) step 12 wipe nappy mat(no photo)these 3 have been filled in there is no photo there.I have spent hours on this and as i do not work in childcare as yet i am so confused.I would appreciate any help.Thanks Julie

What is your answer so far or What have you done so far as an attempt to solve this question?
Nothing as yet,inkepp getting more confused

I am doing work placement and have only just been taught the procedure.

Place paper on change mat.
Either pick child up or help child up to mat.
Put on gloves.
Get nappy and wipes ready.
Remove child's bottom half of clothes.
Remove nappy and place in appropriate bin.
Clean child with the wipes.
Place wipes in bin.
Place nappy on child.
Place clothes back on child.
Help child down.
Put paper in bin then gloves.
Wipe down mat with the appropriate cleaning product.
Wash own hands.

And that's how I am being taught. Hope it helps. It may be slightly different at other child care providers.

Yea I know what you mean. I am in the same boat with the course and the more I look the more stressing and confusing it gets.

For the nappy change procedure all childcare centres usually follow the same procedure from " The Staying Healthy In Childcare Guide". This provides details on how to stop infection and contamination on every aspect in childcare. I have checked the nappy change procedure and it has 13 steps so this is probably the procedure your question is referring too.
